20th Birthday cake I made for a friend of mine :) it says Stella along the bottom… First time I’ve made a cake without any major hitches or problems ;) it tasted pretty good too :D… Any comments/criticisms greatly welcomed and appreciated :) <3 xx
Excited to see what you'll come up with next, I'm loving Sponge Bob and still impressed with Angry Birds! :)
Thank you very much :)… I’m still not very confident in my cake decorating abilities as I am totally self taught!… I am hoping to have some lessons in the near future so I can improve on things I have already learnt :D
And I am glad you liked the Angry Birds… although the idea wasn’t totally original, it took a few weeks of planning and many hours to actually construct it!
I hope I can continue to impress you with my cakes :D <3 xx
Here are some snaps of the 50th Wedding Anniversary cake I made for my Grandparents. I had to tweak my original plan slightly, and instead of making a bow out of icing, I decided to pipe some roses and sprinkle them with edible gold glitter :)… The cake itself is a 10” and a 6” fruit cake… It was very heavy :/… When I got the cake to the venue, I stuck on the roses and piped a yellow border around the cakes… Everyone loved it and my Grandparents were thrilled… Success!! :D <3 xx
This is the smaller tier of a 2-tier cake I will be making for my grandparents 50th wedding anniversary party… This one is 6 inches… The larger one will be 10 inches, and they’ll both be fruit cakes… Once they’re both done, I will cover them in an apricot glaze, marzipan and ivory coloured icing… I’m going to make it look like 2 presents sitting on top of each other with bows made of icing… I also have edible gold glitter to sprinkle on it and a bit of gold ribbon. I will try and make it look pretty :)… What do you guys think?xxx
This is the Spongebob cake I made for my sister’s Birthday yesterday…I made it in one day so I was a bit rushed to do it… I’ve never made a tiered cake before and I think it came out alright :)… Apart from the pineapple! I stuck 2 domed cakes together and then attempted to cover it in icing, but it didn’t cooperate very well and kept tearing, so any icing advice would be greatly appreciated :)… Also, when I made the large tier, it sunk in the middle, which was odd, because my cakes usually have a dome in the middle. Does anyone know why it did this?… If I had more time I would’ve stuck some shells or fish made of icing around the sides to make it look a bit more interesting. But my sister was happy with it, so that’s all that matters :)… Comments and advice are welcome and encouraged!! :) xxx
Right… The exams are over :) that can only mean one thing: CAKE DECORATING TIMMMEEEE.
In between my job, I’m going to try and make some fancy cakes and hopefully provide some pictures that will be a feast for the eyes :)
I have 2 days off on Monday and Tuesday, so hopefully I will be able to prepare something yummy to show everyone :) I drew up the plan a couple of months ago and I’m really excited about giving it a go :)
Watch this space ;)
Also, if people have any interesting cake ideas, I’d love to hear them :)… Feel free to send suggestions to my ask box :)
